A friend of mine told me there is nothing wrong with the number of proposed options being issued to Directors, nor the exercise price provided the following condition was added.

He even added a sweetener and suggested that each option should convert to not just one share but 1.2 shares.

He suggested that as a show of confidence and to help all shareholders by getting the share price moving, as a condition of being issued these options the Directors pay 50 cents per option up front with the remainder payable when they clean up by exercising the options.

That way like shareholders they have put some money at risk to obtain these options and have an even greater incentive to perform than being issued 100% risk free options.
