I understand your arguments, but business is not a democracy. You have a choice whether you want to be a shareholder in a company and how big a shareholder you want to be. If you want democracy, join a collective business, not a speculative listed mining company.

What I object to is, on my reading and understanding, if you do not nominate a proxy or your proxy does not show up then your vote can be cast by the Chairman in your absence in any way they see fit if you haven't specifically instructed the Chairman how to vote. Too much power to the Chairman and can be a conflict of interest.

I wonder how many of these "silent" proxies the Chairman has. A lot of investors would not nominate proxies or send in voting instructions.
