Don't forget the "performance rights" already awarded.
At last a share holder who wants to take some positive action.
Unfortunately, we are wasting our time in voting, here and in other companies as our votes do not count. 99.99% of votes are not given by shareholders at all but non-shareholders. and by this I mean that institutions are allowed to vote. The problem with that is that the person voting on behalf of the institutions is voting on "behalf of the investors" of the institutions. eg years back, I called my super fund trustee and discuss how they were going to vote on ANZ's remuneration package. I was told "Yes". I told them as they were voting with my money, and I was against it. Guess how far I got?
There is only one way to bring democracy to public companies. That is one share holder one vote. The problem now is that 99% of people can vote against a motion and you will still get the ASX report saying "80% voted in favour".
But what are the chances of that happening? the scum bags in our society are even talking about removing the 5% required to call a general meeting.
