High Top, a molten metal battery is aimed fairly and squarely at the electric grid market. If it does come to fruition, then it will be massively beneficial worldwide, as the best grid battery storage solution to date! Whilst Tesla has been producing Grid Storage solutions made with hundreds of thousands of their batteries in modules, the cost is high. Molten metal batteries are the size of small shipping containers and have many benefits over Tesla's lithium ion batteries.
In September, NEC and Ambri formed a joint venture to bring these molten metal batteries to the market. Hopefully it succeeds, because the benefits are outstanding!
Of course, Tesla is also looking to improve their own batteries and a new version next year will double the life expectancy of vehicle batteries to at least 20 years! They also bought out a supercapacitor battery company, so if they can perfect those sorts of batteries, then Graphite demand will drop immensely.
*** The Biggest News*** for me, is that Tesla is expected to announce, and present, its highly anticipated Tesla pickup truck in the coming weeks. This vehicle will look vastly different to any pickup truck we've seen before, but is expected to achieve massive sales because of how good it is. Can't wait!
Whether VRC gets its mine up and running is still subject to conjecture. How much demand there will be for its Graphite is still anyone's guess. There is a lot going to happen during the next 3 years, but it would be nice if VRC is in the mix! We can speculate and discuss the issues, the potentials, and the slow progres, but no one knows how VRC will play out!
I'm holding my stock until I know more from VRC and the market. If VRC does in fact list on the SEM, then I'll be lining up at my stock broker's office at 9.00am with a bag of cash and the orders for him to buy VRC, and then buy even more!
