Muchas gracias Met2020: Excellent overview.
Here are few bits of colour (and musings) from another attendee. Location map:
Assays: Roger Mason (RM) mentioned:.
- Allow 1-2 weeks for transport from the field. Probably rare for it to be 2 wks.
- Different labs are preferred by the 4 "partners" so the samples are spread around with processing varying.
- Laboratory turnaround is 3-5 weeks at present.
- Sample prep at Telfer (Wilki JV) was discussed but not done there.
- 25-30Kms of drilling (7 Kms on 100%) to be completed in this Calendar year. Results Xmas to 1st month in 21 (in my notes- could stretch out to later).
Field Season (RM):
- Hot already with field work winding up before Xmas. They have been lucky with relatively low cyclone activity for the 10 years up there.
- He didn't preclude drilling starting up again earlier rather than later in Q1 21.
- The second phase of the IGO aircore drilling may be the most likely to start early - My comment ?why.
Information Sharing Rio.
Only hints from passing comments to suggest Rio is .
- Boxer/Gaip 20-1 similar to Magnum/Calibre AND Winu. Not surprising as the latter 3 deposits are associated with variable disseminated sulphides. [Although not entirely closed off along strike Boxer does not appear to be a formational anomaly. Winu was considered formational from first pass AEM so not necessarily a bad thing.]
- The presence of supergene Cu/Au on top of Winu Versus the fresh nature of sulphides below the Permian unconformity was mentioned at least twice. [The Permian unconformity has glacial sediments above it in the Citadel area (mentioned in 2019 AGM comments). How does supergene Cu/Au form below this? Why at Winu and not Calibre? Some possibilities can be seen in North America where recent ice ages polished the basement of much of the continent leaving only small areas with deeper weathering (Casino area in the Yukon is one such example I believe)]
- Not info sharing but SP (S Power) commented on Rio's "body language" [ $12M in 2020, a lot of drilling at Calibre and Gaip) as being good for AZY and the Citadel JV.
- Expect Winu to get bigger - Resource only down to 300m or so for only part of the drilled strike length. Holes to 1000m with some reported intersections to 700m or so down hole. Mentioned in passing with most of the info available in Rio releases.
100% ground.
- Previously AZY has not had the funds to explore the Minyari (and the rest of the area) in the way they would like.
- RM said aircore results by Xmas but changed to January later.
- He chose the word scoping to describe diamond drilling at Minyari and Waca. 3800m doesn't go too far when the target is 2-600m below surface (at 2 sites!). From a recent post these Minyari targets were marked. The impression I got was they might be testing the middle of this area rather than the top - drilling below open pit level (in my notes from the presentation).
- 5 such holes could be some 2Kms leaving 4 - 5 for 1800m at Waca.
- Good results from such drilling would impact the depth of any pit. Another hit or two like 60m at 4 g/t would be great.
Wilki NCM JV.
- 6 Kms of RC drilling targeting 5 geophysical targets (Mag+-EM)
- Only talked about Grilla and AEM20-02.
- AEM20-2 occurs at a bend in the magnetic trend, (could be dilatation zone) with gold values along trend but not previously tested??.
- In passing it was mentioned Fallows Field was mined. Google Earth images show a rehabilitated pit some 500+m long with indications mining went deeper on some narrow zones.Relationship to Telfer and a detail image below
- this could give some idea of what could happen at Tim's, Chicken Ranch, Minyari or Waca, or??
IGO JV
- The northern area is shown in the location map. 2019 drill rigs were unable to access some of the EM targets. Unless the AC rig being used in the current program is equipped for such access this probably won't be drilled in this phase 1 work.
- Phase 1 is testing the trend defined by 2019 drilling which extends NNW to Boxer and SSE to ??. Also some work on the Grey trend. The thick red lines on the location map are my attempt to show what may be targeted. Wider spaced Recce to try and find sweet spots along the trends (my paraphrasing)
- Phase 2 March/ April.
