I have to agree with the statement that the wording was very carefully and deliberately crafted. I believe the intent was to imply that ASIC had a hand in the suspension, without explicity saying that they did.
This could be because ASIC did have some influence on the decision, even if they didn't actually order it.
Or it could be because ASX had some token correspondence with them on the matter, and opted to namedrop them to bolster their paper-thin case.
There's something in those words for everyone.
