The interim CEO stepped aside to put a new CEO in place. Doesn't sound like a gravy train (although he did get a fairly large amount in bonus shares, for what was a period with very strong tailwind). Though he stepped aside anyway. Like, he thought the new CEO is more suitable to the position.

Yes, a successful company will at some point have to make profits. Though not this year. This year is for investing in growth, with the goal of higher market share, revenue and profit in future years. Maybe even diversifying from brokerage/interest revenue.

People in 2008-2014 could have said 'Amazon has to make profits some time', though it wasn't until 2016 onwards that the profits started coming through strongly. Though their SP rose strongly along the way anyway, with the market share and revenue. And would people have expected Amazon to diversify away from E-commerce revenue?
