A share consolidation does not sound appealing at all, is one being planned?

In theory the market cap should stay the same, with fewer shares being offset by a correspondingly higher share price per share

But it doesn't seem to work that way in practice, very often in these cases the overall value of your holding drops as the rise in the SP does not compensate enough for the reduced number of shares

At least on the few occasions I have observed or been a party to this kind of event,

Not sure that the textbooks can explain it, as it does not seem to be the result of rational behaviour

But unless and until there is something else to propel the share price upwards I really hope they do not go down that route
