I think there is some ambiguity around the way "platform strategy" is being used in some cases - not by you @vijayghelani.

If by platform strategy the company means the IP surrounding the secret sauce, Europium particles, the conjugation chemistry, the experience around tweaking the sauce for a specific new target etc then I think that a "platform strategy" makes a lot of sense.

Sometimes I see the term platform strategy used as a synonym for the ecosystem around the reader - just a bunch of electronics and optics held together by some code. When used in this way I think that such a "platform strategy" will have a very limited lifetime and upside.

As you say, the reader will likely be priced at a nominal level, or even given away for free for really serious orders. The Eugeni IP ecosystem is the strategic asset, not the Eugeni reader.
