Exactly ! Plus there's always a potential backlash in the Courts. Reporters and investigators can only go so far.
The Guardian has a piece today on Elizabeth Holmes, founder of Theranos, who has been found guilty on a number of charges including conspiracy to defraud investors during her 15 year reign in Silicon Valley.
She did get away with some of the charges but the guilty verdict opens her up to a potential 20 year prison sentence.
Naturally, she's expected to appeal as she had pleaded not guilty, but it doesn't look like there's going to be a slap on the wrist there. Dyor
I'm not particluarly drawing any comparisons here but every BoD in the world should be looking at the Holmes case as an example of how not to treat investors and run the company according to what they proport their responsibilities to be and what their Legal Responsibilities are, especially when raising money from investors and subsequently misappropriating the use of such funds. As well as needlessly raising even more cash, issuing more shares, with complete ignorance towards existing shareholders who have to suffer their share holdings diluted time and time again, there hasn't been any documented/reported progress on what they're supposed to be doing - generating new business and improving cashflow with reduced expenses.
Look, there doesn't seem to be any focus whatsoever on new business here !
The sole purpose for them seems to be in lining pockets, imo.
With the rest of the Medical Cannabis Industry looking in on this self-proclaimed 'Global' force and with it's recent media exposure, I wouldn't be surprised if CBG got totally shunned with unwillingness to do business with them.
It even looks like there isn't any further association with them by Olivia Newton-John if anyone remembers 'Olivia's Choice' ? Her husband, John Easterling, doesn't get a mention in the AGM prospectus either - has he jumped ship to leave it to the floundering 'captains' ?
