Maybe you should rephrase that, as to grow profits you have to first BE profitable.
Out of curiosity, do you still trust management after being misled?
Personally I find it a dealbreaker in any management. if you don't draw the line somewhere it becomes a slippery slope. You may try to rationalise it after the fact (i.e. I'm fine being lied to so long as they hit X target) but the problem is when things go wrong you will be the last to know, and when you do it will be too late.
