I agree. While I have enjoyed the enthusiasm in the past, the tone of these posts is odd (kind of messianic even?) to me.
I accept there is a lot outside of LPD's control including current lithium pricing being in the toilet and I can't form a full judgement as I've never heard enough from the company to form a clear picture, but we might have had a running P1 in Canada by now.
We're 5 years behind where we ought to have been. We've been told things are looking up continually and it's only recently the company has made noises about UAE no longer being viable - earlier this year Julian assured me in an email that it was all internal UAE govt department ructions and they were speaking to the 'right people'.
Hindsight is 20 20, but we ought to have had a fall back plan despite the warmth of UAE's initial overtures, as Julian alluded to, to keep a cash runway and a negotiating position of strength. Maybe that would be a second location for the P1 being developed, in part, in parallel. Or more action on licencing. I honestly don't know. I don't hold them fully accountable not because they necessarily deserve not to be, but because I don't have the information to assess. In reality, it's probably a mixed picture, but I do hold them accountable for underwhelming communications to retail investors.
It's also worth noting that if they receive a second strike and the board must stand for re-election, spilled board members can still be re-elected. So it's not the end of the world. It might even be an incentive to put a more compelling offer to shareholders rather than an incentive to walk away, when they would do so with a black mark on their professional reputation.
I for one would have liked to hear ALOT more about cost management, I would have liked to hear about cash salaries being swapped out for long term incentives like some other companies I've invested in, so I have to say my inkling is toward voting down the remuneration report. I am totally happy to be convinced otherwise though.
