I recall that the Xstrata deal transferred 15% of AVB to Xstrata. That major shift in company ownership was subject to shareholder approval.
Also, interestingly too this years AGM has been brought forward by two weeks over that of the past two years. Last year I rang Scotty about the AGM date and it was almost as if, well it would be around the same time each year if I wanted to book a flight etc. So this years date is unusually early.
So to me that further suggests AVB is anxious to get shareholder approval for this placement in order to consummate the Vale Deal. I believe the deal will say (as it did for Xstrata) "Subject to Shareholder approval at AGM of Placement of 10%".
Of course it may not. Naturally!
But the idea of this forum is the THINKING .... getting into the engine room of what is, or MIGHT be happening... following the clues and getting an advantage over others who are not here with us on HC.
The pooling of thoughts to mutual advantage.
So I am saying that it hints at things being wrapped up to the extent that this provision can be included in the Agenda.
I would expect the Vale announcement ANY time right now, so shareholders have time to consider Resolutioin 4 and know why they are voting in favour. I would expect the SP to continue its upward trend, and that is a bold call.
So yes jacobmoore, I think my theory could be "on the mark", or at least close to it. Naturally one is free to believe otherwise.... but I just follow the logic and the clues, and there are plenty of those.!
Getting exited about such things makes life enjoyable, and makes up for the down times for AVB SP. See what today brings in particular. PP :))
