Why would you vote yes for bonuses?

I get why you'd vote for a sale (I did), but for the life of me I can't understand why you'd want to give out bonuses for a failed undertaking.
It's not their fault, sure. It's not our fault either, no bonus for shareholers has to mean no bonus for execs - every single time in my book.

Fear of Simon walking (with no project to build and a big salary ongoing) doesn't seem like much of a reason...
