Options are not ordinary shares unless they become converted. A person buys options at whatever the market price is that day and then you have the "option" to convert them to full shares for the price of 2c.
So lets say you bought them years ago for 8c and today you paid 2c to strike them, you would be all in for 10c. pretty great discount if that's the case.
