If you read the announcement thoroughly it is fairly self explanatory. We are really all placing faith in the directors of this company and that their talents are likely to increase the value of the company. Up to each shareholder if you feel this is the case.
These director options are incentives to align their interests with those of the company in a non-cash way. It will dilute shareholders equity (i.e. all of our interests) .. when exercised.
