With all the alleged demand for SPOD, the BOD should have been able to wrap up and announce a deal for the other 50% by now.

Wrapping a deal up is the only thing that matters whether it was done two years ago or just in time for shipping is irrelevant .
They quite likely could have wrapped a deal up earlier but as Brett himself has said they are trying to get the best deal possible and there is a good chance there is more than one player involved and new offers arriving.

If they are in the situation of more than one option then you can deal knowing you have a fall back position.

Many here are so hung up on timelines they seem to forget we are in a dynamic sector where change is constant and that means new opportunities can arrive overnight. I'll take a good deal over perfection around timing any day. Timelines misses are soon forgotten a good deal is lasting.

One thing we know is if they are going to make a 30,000t shipment in July somrthing needs to be signed before that, given they are targetting nameplate production by Oct it means they have always had a fall back position and its more to do with finalizing details , otherwise they would have concentrate lying all over the place without a home and if you think management is that incompetent then run for the hills.

While on the subject of timelines the July shipping is not a deadline its an expectation / target/ likelihood but don't hang your hat on it...
