I’d say this resolution of issuing almost a million and a half dollars in free shares to the CEO (twice his annual salary) and try to push through at an EGM (not the AGM) for really weak performance hurdles set retrospectively and during a year where shareholder return is flat is my first significant disappointment with this board of directors.

I am a former proxy advisor and remuneration and ESG advisor to company boards. I’ll be in attendance at the meeting and putting this question to the RemCo chair. I also have significant contacts and relationships in the Australian corporate governance industry.

They’ll need to engage a good rem consultant soon if they don’t want to be embarrassed by me. I currently hold 1.5m shares and I will have my 15 minutes on this one.
