I agree, I think this is really unseemly. I think as soon as the 249D was received and the Board (obviously excluding DW himself) resolved it was going to recommend shareholders vote in favour of DW's removal, he should have immediately stepped down. This would have avoided the need for the company to advise the market of the 249D or even publish the Board's voting recommendation. It would also have avoided the Company wasting significant time and cost by having to go to an EGM. It's bewildering and disappointing behaviour from an experienced Director IMO.
