Are the tariffs leading to an accelerating money printing?
Trump is looking to increase revenue raised by tariffs and reduce revenue raised from income/corporate taxes. Because he's unwilling to slash the parts of government spending that actually make a difference (welfare) he won't be able to cut other taxes by that much.
He's hoping the productivity gained by drill, baby, drill will increase the size of the pie enough to reduce the deficit. Maybe. Probably not.
The problem in the US is the same as the problem everywhere. The most productive part of the economy by far - males - are systematically oppressed and checking out as a result. They've given up on having a family and given up on taking risks for the benefit of society.
No government has the slightest clue how to fix this - or they do but won't because to even admit men are oppressed guarantees being voted out.
