As you gain more experience (dozens of holdings over many years, including winners and failures), you'll learn that sometimes things get disclosed only when the company is already screwed (SIV:ASX). Up until that point, they downplay everything so you believe that a turnaround is easy and just around the corner.
So you need to infer your own conclusions. Waiting for management to notify holders often doesn't work.
