One such expert is Jade Pallett, a microbiologist at ZOONO, a surface sanitiser brand.
She told Express.co.uk one route back to normal is via enhanced cleaning protocols.
Ms Pallett said restrictions would likely return in March, but schools could further prevent infections with a new type of antimicrobial coating.
She told Express.co.uk: "One thing for certain is that once children can return to the classroom, there are likely to still be restrictions and a strict hygiene protocol in place.
"It would be advisable for schools to adopt cleaning protocols that use antimicrobial coatings (AMC’s) to help prevent the spread of viruses and bacteria.
