Your comment about 'why would anyone..' is 200 per cent correct and one of your best ever.
I chose between SDF and AUB, but could have picked both.
Perhaps neither has a 'moat' in the way REH arguably does, but SDF and probably AUB deliver good returns when one adds dividends plus bonus capital growth.
I avoid general insurers (and airlines like QAN/REX) like the plague. (QAN is a poorly run company whose Board and CEO need to go).
