Sound advice Grant - just had a call back from the company (I never like using names without permission) and received confirmation that they generally wait for funds to clear, and cheques to arrive via mail for a short period. Using myself as an example I was told a note with my name would however be on the system to ensure the participation was registered.

So my advice is this - if you do BPay or send a late cheque to the company then follow up with an email confirming your name and payment (include your Bpay receipt if you can cut and paste) so you have some written evidence of your participation.

Even easier just to Direct Debit before 3pm tomorrow but each to their own...

On another note I think I convey thay the person I spoke to said they were not disappointed with the take of the entitlement offer so far.
