From what I understand, for two of the directors at least, $300k is a very significant cash investment amount, not throwing around a bit of spare change.
Their investment is being made on the basis they genuinely believe this will be a huge success in the relatively near future.
Whether they are right or not remains to be seen. I'm betting they are...
