Have your heard of Customer Surveys for example?
When Spark communicate with their customer base through email/SMS/App notification etc, they may have surveyed their customers about VM. It seems NOR are doing a level of customisation for Spark, so why wouldn't Spark consult with the end user?
Further, when I was a Microsoft Partner, way back in the day, we would get first access to new software; crowd sourcing testing etc. It is not unusual that select customers get first access via a soft launch. After all, it has been what? 12+ months and crickets...
