The big disadvantage Veris has over other rival surveying companies is being ASX listed, it has higher overheads than its private rivals. With all the acquisitions comes the issue of too many chiefs and not enough Indians but sounds like they have worked largely through this.
No surprises with the revenue increase but profit decrease when they are charging themselves out at $90/hour on some jobs. Jobs like that are best left to the one man band companies.
