With reference to comments regarding the 'unusually quiet' SP movement prior to perceived key announcement...take a look at the below chart being XAU v USD 10 year correlation...most recently a similar scenario happened in 2011, the obverse price action between USD and XAU is polar opposite and extreme.
For those who eagerly attempt to ascertain what each individual announcement or comment will mean for there holding...draw a vertical line through 2012 and that's where it's headed.
When viewing the below pay attention to what happened in August....then the current RSI reading...
