It's a very unlikely situation, but the board can appoint new board members at any time. So if that happened, the remaining board members can appoint anyone they choose to meet the minimum requirements (there must be at least 3 board members).
Any new board member would need the approval of shareholders at the next AGM.
This is my own understanding - I'm happy to be corrected on this!
