A true statement made to deceive is worse than a lie. Those signed statements supporting the project without mentioning support for the team are designed to look like they are supporting the current management/board when, in fact, they are likely to be the opposite or they would have made their support known.
The fact that there are so few statements actually supporting the current team is, in itself, an indication that the current team has little support.
