I'm a big fan of corporate executives being remunerated based on performance (rather than arbitrarily through the payment of a guaranteed salary regardless of performance), however the hurdles need to be actual hurdles and not just box ticking exercises.

The proposed hurdles are (lodgement of the DA, approval of the DA and FID approval).

While these are all important milestones to reach (and to reach as fast as possible), I view all of these hurdles as almost certainties (unless the spod price literally goes to $600/T - in which case management performance can't do anything to save the FID anyway).
