I would think that the current incentives on top of their salaries would have been enough but now they are adding more. I agree that if they perform we are all better off however adding rewards for the means now in addition to the ends that have already been agreed I feel is a bit of a money grab.
As a Brisbane Lions supporter it is a bit like offering Chris Fagan a bonus at the start of the season for the Lions winning the Premiership then half way though the season when they are second on the ladder and all supporters are happy offering another bonus if they make the top four by the time finals come around.
