Actually, those saying their votes don't matter are lying. Every vote counts.

I hold another stock in the gold sector (HRZ), and before last years AGM we all wanted to vote out one of the 'lifestyle' directors who did F all to work on heading into gold production for 3 years. Kept using covid as an excuse and other director gigs with other companies clearly took up their time. Anyway all of us retail shareholders banded together to make our votes count. From memory, the against votes were around 49.1%. One of the larger retail holders who had more than 1-2% worth of shares posted a week later than he forgot to vote. If he did, we would have got over the line and they would have been shown the door. This director got a first strike, making it easier to get rid of next time but still, it was frustrating to be so close.

Moral of the story - Every vote counts.
