But Dash, who would takeover IVZ?

Aussie mid-tier gas company? - nope, they have too many problems of their own back home.

International mid-tier explorer? Tullow, Africa Oil, Eco - don't think so. They have seen how hard it is in "friendly african countries" like Namibia and Kenya and I doubt they have the stomach to taken on basket case Zimbabwe's sovereign risk.

International major? Total, Shell? nope, same as above.

International producer; Sasol, BW Energy? Maybe. BW have taken an interest in Recon, our Namibian equivalent. Sasol have depleting gas fields in Mocambique, also equivalent to us.
However, a producer is not likely to move until the gas resource is proven.

Second world Oilco? Sinopec, PetroChina, Qatar? Maybe, most likely with home country backing.

So, much as a takeover would be nice, I cannot think who might be interested?
