I tend to disagree, 90% of companies are undertaking capital raises and they are diluted in one way or another, yet they still manage to get uptrends happening in the share price. In fact, most gold stocks are up multiples in the current record gold environment despite additional shares and dilution. Unfortunately, there seems to be something strange going on with this one - it is bucking the trend completely.
For example, I hold a gold developer - PDI, who have raised crazy amounts of dollars in recent years and added substantial amounts of shares, mostly to institutions and bypassing retail too. The latest one was 261M shares issued at 26c in Feb 2025, worth $69M. A few months later it is now a 41c stock. No crazy news flow in that period either, no production, just riding the positive gold environment.
