I know that existing SH of WAM have first bite at the cherry.... some 123mill shares out of the original 223 mill (approx) so we shud hear something soon. I have to reply to Michael re my comments on the relatively thin trading, but moreso I think about the monthly reports and how IMHO they would be better in tabular form similar to the monthly reports issued by WIC and SEC. I think GC1 stockpicking is great and in many cases ahead of the pack (refer to Eagle Mountain) and no complaints about management. When I am assessing an LIC, I like to list it in a watchlist (at least) the top 10 holdings along with the holding company and compare the movement of the holdings against the parent LIC. Gives me an idea if the portfolio is rising (in general) against the SP of the LIC. This has worked for me with CDM, WIC and SEC. Maybe the data is already there and I am looking at it the wrong way. With the quality of the portfolio, I am surprised that the SP isn’t higher and despite the NAV increasing, there appears to be a reluctance for the SP to move (and remain) above the mid 70s.
Ram, I know that Geoff is more than willing to work with fund managers in an attempt to better their performance and in doing so, improve his own. It will indeed be interesting to see if Geoff is tempted.
