At the end of the day, we did not NEED to raise capital - this was actually stated by the company less than a week earlier.
It seems to me the reason for the placement is because Scarsdale wanted in, not because SMN wanted them in. Under these circumstances, shares should not be issued at a discount, but at a premium, and if Reveley wasn't a part of Scarsdale that probably would have been the case. A raise between 70c and 80c would have been acceptable to me.
Easy for you to say that the proposed placement was the reason the shares went from 71c to $1.05 when you probably weren't on of the suckers who topped up at 90c.
