ArcellorMittal's and Peabody's investment horizon is the next quarter of a century. For them to pull out now, they can't come back for 12 months.

I reckon the Chinese will counter offer MCC (almost immediately) for the same kind of money.

PEAMCoal would also damage it's reputation for ever and will be kicking themselves for years to come.
