Very quick is hydro - No boiler required But again what if it being used elsewhere ? Once used how do you pump the water back when there is no renewables?.
In this latest incident they lost 1.3GW/hour for over 4 hours whilst they started up the redundancy Turbines and switched base load from other states ( Im not sure exactly how long but some reports say Longer) Hope some one can check that.
So Snowy easily could have filled the gap. but at what spot rate cost ;o) There be a lot of cost recouping once that is online ;o)
