They will be vendor shares from a previous acquisition. Release from escrow is a common event.
These shares represent an additional 2% of shares available to be traded. In a busted market like now, any additional volume is more likely to be sold then held and these shares are probably in the money adding to the temptation.
Having said that, the release day is the day before results are due and hopefully the market will have corrected before then.
