They are just realising profits and de-risking.
While it seems obvious there is more to go with elevated IO price there are always risks and black swan events can happen. To be fair - its likely good risk management on their part.
As for what will happen to unlisted options in a take-over, once the offer were to be announced they would just exercise their options into ordinary shares and sell them or take the TO price.
