It is actually pretty smart move as consolidations usually cause a fall in the SP. This will effectively allow BCN to avoid the usual fall that comes with a consolidation.
I suspect we will see relatively few shares bought back by the company with the knowledge that their is a floor helping keep the SP up on its own.
