I think you might be on to something. It is pretty clear to me that at very least when the process ended they would have had a number of discussions with other parties who might have interest, trying to find out what the status was. They did not have the sale sign up as we were told that the failed process was a result of an approach, once it became public that the TO was not to proceed the sale sign went up. Not impossible that one of those developed in to something more than an initial discussion quite quickly.
If it is not something like that then it is indeed a bit odd that they have not taken advantage of the current prices.
