MMGA will soon not exist, just like Zijin and Cominiere in the DRC. The game is over for this group and their supporters.
IMO what we should focus on, to move forward, is the efforts that the AVZ Management team are applying to rigorously negotiate the finer details of an agreement with the DRC Govt. to move Manono and the North section to full scale production and FID. The ICC and ICSID cases have provided direction to get the DRC Govt. and AVZ to work a solution out to get this project moving.
IMO the new DRC Govt. is starting to learn the financial gains that can be realised for partnering with AVZ and understand the economic and social long-term benefits that can be achieved for the people of the Congo. AVZ is committed to achieving a Green energy program for local communities. The MOU with the DRC to develop Hydro Electricity from the refurbished Mwanga Power station should progress immediately to an Agreement to get this up and running in the next 2 years. I am sure the DRC will be keen to establish further agreements with large international technology and infrastructure investors to build the Road, rail and communications networks with the Ports for the export of products.
We have already seen the completion of workers accommodation huts and the prospects this presents for the growth of employment opportunities within local communities. With AVZ having recently completed exploration activities (at least for now) to confirm the Life of the project for 40 years, it’s time to move this project to the next phase and make the DRC a major Lithium and Tin Producer.
