ASX said no, and fair enough too. The rules are the rules, and the waiver the board attempted struck me as inconsistent and not particularly transparent. If you have vesting conditions and for any reason they are not fulfilled then options and rights expire, it’s always been that way. Ordinary shareholders don’t get special waivers or extensions by boards on the exercise of options because of environmental conditions outside of their control either - those options simply lapse.
