Dreamer I would say that we will still need iron ore. It is how it is mined that can be changed, using solar and battery storage power and other renewables, re-cycling water etc making sure the resources are mined in a more sustainable way. The falling knife is how do companies maximise their returns now before they have to pay the full costs of using finite resources. Once they have to pay, and it is a when not an if, prices will change, but if everyone is in the same boat it wont make much difference, it will be a whole market structural change and many resource companies with stranded assets will be bailed out by taxpayers.
