We seem to be on track for phase III with Trofinetide - but in viewing both interviews with Jon (our CEO) over the past two weeks (which I agree, they were very "samey") what stands out to me is that Neuren are much more excited about NNZ2591 than trofinetide.
It will be great when the phase III trofinetide results are in and I still think 80-90% plus chance of success. But still 10-20% chance of failure.... but NNZ2591 will still be in play, regardless.
Some questions were answered for me recently by Neuren that I wish to share (word for word):
Trofinetide and NNZ-2591 both originate from Dame Margaret Brimble's work in Auckland. They are analogs of two different molecules - glycine proline glutamate (GPE) and cyclic glycine proline (cGP) respectively. Each plays a role in the metabolism of IGF-1 in the brain. The desired outcome of using the power of IGF-1 in the brain is the same, but with a different mechanism to achieve it. They also have different properties as drugs, with 2591 clearly superior in a few ways.

So "there is a lot of important news to come on NNZ-2591" ... that is very exciting and it is the science I am backing here.
