you buy the options knowing that however many you have * the exercise price is gonna be what you pay to own them as full shares, you buy them at say 2c when the full shares are 9c hoping that by the exercise date the heads are higher.. or treat them as stock 'buy now, pay later' and buy a bunch of share options for cheap and then save the money over time to buy them, its not that complicated
