Looks to me like the company has set a minimum baseline target of 20% growth in earnings year on year for the next 3 years (I could be wrong?). On the one hand, it doesn't sound overly ambitious compared to growth rates of the past. However, this is also following a reduction in earnings of 80% in FY21. There are also people on here claiming that the company will barely grow at all going forward, and in fact will be losing money over the next few years.
If I recall correctly, DB's remuneration package was lower than the ASX200 CEO average. If that is correct (I could be wrong but that's my assumption), then offsetting this by locking in some minimum growth hurdles is probably preferable compared to a bigger up front remuneration package without any guarantees of delivering even modest improvements in results. Just my view but I understand your sentiment.
