    The Company:

    BCI Minerals Limited (ASX:BCI) ("BCI") is an Australian-based company that is developing a salt and potash business.


    BCI is focused on rapidly advancing its 100% owned Mardie Salt & Potash Project, a potential Tier 1 project located on the West Pilbara coast in the centre of Australia's key salt production region.


    Mardie aims to produce 5.35Mtpa of high-purity salt and 140ktpa of sulphate of potash fertiliser via solar evaporation of seawater. Using an inexhaustible resource and a production process driven mainly by natural solar and wind energy, Mardie is a sustainable opportunity to supply the salt and potash growth markets in Asia over many decades.


    The Role:

    As a key member of the Owners Project Team the ultimate responsibility of this role will be to support the business with key contract activities during the three years of project construction.


    Reporting into the Superintendent Contracts from our well-appointed West Perth Offices, your focus will be to assist all departments with the administration of assigned project contracts including contributing and reviewing scopes of work and contract conditions.


    Contracts cover both the FEED and execution phases including development, tendering and award of contracts, service agreements required prior to handover and start-up of the plant and facilities.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Reviewing scopes of work and contract conditions as part of preparing high-quality tender packages and contract documents for issue to market as part of tender process.
    • Receipt and distribution of tenders to all stakeholders ensuring the proper commercial and technical evaluation of tenders with support from stakeholders.
    • Conducting and coordinating commercial and legal negotiations with contractors including ownership and administration of clarifications and departures during contractual negotiations.
    • Preparing recommendation documents for board approvals setting out a clear, well-supported business case for the award of key contracts.
    • Administering all contractual aspects of major contracts, assessing including reviewing and assessing contractor monthly progress claims, variations, delay, disruption or extension of time claims and advising project managers and package owners accordingly.
    • Ensuring contractor compliance with all commercial requirements of contracts including receipt and review of insurance certificates, security documents and other contractor document deliverables.
    • Developing and maintaining sound professional relationships with key suppliers and contractors.
    • Work closely with the delivery teams to evaluate and select suitable suppliers and contractors.


    About You:

    BCI is seeking a suitably qualified candidate with 5+ years’ experience at contract administrator level, preferably within the mining or construction sector.


    To be successful for the role, you will also possess the following criteria:

    • Proven track record and of knowledge of engineering/construction industry contracting practices, applicable government & commercial regulations & practices, and policies, procedures and work practices.
    • Experience in the development and administration of Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) contracts.
    • Experience in the development and administration of Design & Construct (D&C) contracts.
    • Experience in the development and administration of Build, Own & Operate (BOO) contracts.
    • Experience in the development of Construction only contracts.
    • Experience in contract administration, home office & site procedures and documents relating to a multi-discipline construction project.
    • Legal understanding of commercial agreements
    • Strong negotiation skills
    • Well-developed conceptual, analytical, and planning skills
    • Financial skills with considerable experience in preparing and managing contract expenditure, including variation, and progress claim management
    • Well-developed negotiation and problem-solving skills
